Things Cats Don't Care About

Cats are very curious little furballs, to say the least. Fluffy takes certain things—such as her napping schedule, meals, and beauty routines—very seriously. However, there are some things that our feline overlords really aren’t too concerned with. Here, a Dutchess County, NY vet lists some things that Fluffy just doesn’t care about. 

Your Privacy

Kitties like to keep a very close eye on their humans. Fluffy may follow you around the house as you go about your day. She may even try to accompany you to the bathroom! It’s probably safe to say that cats really don’t understand the concept of ‘purrsonal’ space, at least when it applies to us.

Your Sleep Schedule

Has your ‘hangry’ pet ever woken you up to demand her breakfast? Does Fluffy sometimes walk across you in the middle of the night, or pounce on your toes as you’re sleeping? Kitties tend to forget that not everyone has time to take 32 daily naps. 

Your Belongings

Fluffy is a fierce predator in the wild. Even if your kitty never hunts anything more than dust bunnies, toys, and bottlecaps, she’ll still want to keep her skills sharp. One way cats tend to ‘practice’ is by smacking small objects off tables and counters. 

Your Computer

Our feline pals love to seek out warm napping spots. This may be one reason they like curling up on laptops. Fluffy probably isn’t very worried about accidentally corrupting—or even deleting—your files. 

Your Furniture

Fluffy isn’t deliberately trying to scratch up your sofa. She really does need a place to sharpen her claws. Make sure your furball has a good scratching post! 

Dignity

Cats can be quite regal and serene. They can also be, well, pretty silly. Fluffy isn’t going to lose sleep over knowing that she looked absolutely hilarious chasing that moth. She isn’t shy about grooming herself in front of guests, either. 

Physics

This brings us to the next item. You’ve probably noticed that cats seem to follow their own version of the rules of physics. Fluffy can sleep in positions that look like algorithms, and she sometimes manages some amazing feats of kitty acrobatics. Clearly, our furry friends aren’t too concerned with things like gravity!
